Ostinato cello, sucka.

I caught up with healing RB Leipzig/USMNT goal shark Terrence Boyd today, and as always, it was an interesting conversation. I like the way he views things.

And if Klinsi absolutely must run a two-forward set, then I'd say just stuff the ceremony of experiments and go back to the empty bucket. Once healthy and back to regular business, it says here T-Boyd is the second-best support striker-type in the pool behind Dempsey. Yeah, right now I'd have a game-warmed Boyd ahead of AJ, Agudelo and anyone else you could place there outside of Deuce (who, as we all know, is now 32).

I don't think the US has figured out how to use Boyd yet, but he would run wild in the wake of Altidore drawing multiple defenders, and guys like Mix, Mikey and Ale certainly are capable of shooting low and on target from distance solely for the purpose of producing the types of rebounds the recovering Red Bull ace snacks on like chum.

As a bench option, repeat all that, but with tired defenders. I am still left wondering what might have occurred with Boyd on the World Cup roster.

Klinsmann is just stuck too far up his own youknowwhat trying to shoehorn a system on our pool to not see the beautiful simplocity you describe.

Well I mean, to see the beautiful simplicity - damn these tiny iPad keyboards!

Boyd was the big miss off last summer's WC roster. As we now know, AJ was carrying an injury and Wondo just wasn't good enough, but there was simply too much redundancy. Of course, the other thing Boyd brings to the table is aerial ability, which is better than most other forwards in the current pool.

In addition to not bringing Donovan, the biggest roster gaffe was not bringing Boyd when our entire gameplan relied on having a hold up striker.

agree with chris. problem with wondo wasnt that he wasnt good enough, he's just a second-striker. jk basically took 2 of each position. took 4 "forwards", but deuce, aj, and wondo are all second-strikers.

Hey Greg, I have a bit of an unrelated question for you. If Villa were to go down at the end of the season, what is Guzan likely to do? Would there be Premier League teams interested in his services and would Villa be willing to sell?

Oh, he would be out of there.
