Belgian Stuff

Two items for ya here, both related to the Jupiler League:

  • I can confirm that DeAndre Yedlin will not be heading to Anderlecht on loan, as widely reported as a good possibility the last couple days in numerous Belgian outlets. I had heard they made a loan + buy option offer and were rejected by Spurs, but have not confirmed those twin aspects of the story yet. As you may recall, the Mauves were among the bidders before the right-sider joined Tottenham.
  • This seems a strange story I will definitely get to you next week at MLSS, but Shane O'Neill has moved on a full transfer from Cypriot outfit Apollon Limassol to Belgium's Royal Mouscron-Péruwelz. He signed a two-year deal last night and will join the club once he is done with US Under-23 duty. A report is coming to MLSS in a bit.

Does Apollon even field a team at all? They seem like the Euro cutout of choice for breaking into continental play.

@ Wilkerson

They actually have a fairly lengthy Wikipedia entry on their sporting history, all things considered.
