Whoa.

While DeAndre Yedlin is now officially a Sunderland loan player (say your prayers tonight, beat the rush), I was also caught by another tidbit just released. Jonathan Spector is back in the USMNT frame, folks.... but at what position? This could be interesting.

Considering JKs track record, I'm guessing forward or keeper.

This means I now have to care about Sunderland again. WHY GOD!?

I understand the idea is to get on a field and therefore nearly any move is better than the status quo, but I hate this Yedlin move. He's a speedy winger/mediocre defender moving to one of the worst teams in the premier league. Gross.

If he plays as a defender (which is where I think he should) he's at least going to get LOTS of practice at Sunderland.

That's what I am hoping too. I read they signed him as a "wing-back". Ol' Dick play a 3-5-2?

well, spector was a striker in u-19s sooooo hahahaha

yedlin following in the prolific footsteps of danny rose

never known advocaat to play a 3/5 man backline. i presume yedlin's "wingback" distinction refers to his expected behavior as a fullback in a 4-man defense.

If Deandre can't beat out Billy Fucking Jones, then he's never going to make it in the Premiership.

@jolazo a-f*cking-men to that.

Billy jones has logged quite a number of hours in the Epl. And when he starts he goes the full 90, and that shows the value of the player. He has been injury prone though. Dick advocate with brandy is going to introduce our boy from the sub bench into a game at right mid, or right wing.

Sunderlands next game is against Spurs, so DY is not even on the bench for this game. After Tottenham is two away games against Bournemouth and ManU. West ham would be his first home game on oct. third. Adam Johnson is out until mid October, this is where yedlin finds his opening. I'd say around the 60th minute of the Bournemouth game. An injury to jones and he could be in sooner, but only by 60 mins.

A home league cup match against citeh is in there somewhere also.

Should be a fun month for our boy. looking forward to seeing him Friday night at RFK

If the only thing Yedlin does at Sunderland is discover his left foot, it will be worth it

So Qatar won a World Cup qualifier today, at home, against a team 70 or so spots below them in the FIFA rankings 15-0. Oh, and the Dutch lost 1 nil at home to a team 11 spots below them in the rankings.
