Wood hits on HSV debut

It took all of 30 Bundesliga minutes for Bobby Wood to open his Hamburg account. The US forward won a physical battle for a long keeper boot to power home the opener against Alfredo Morales' Ingolstadt. Dating back to last season when Wood was a division below with Union Berlin, he now has 13 goals in his last 15 league games in Germany.

Nice to see Wood get off to a good start. Also has to help his chances of getting the call to replace Deuce in the starting lineup for the US in the qualifiers.

Wow, impressive strength and balance to get off such a powerful shot. Hamburg fans seem pretty impressed too.

The way he muscled off the defender reminded me of CD9. Great job Wood! W
