Brooks, FabJo hit in opening day wins

Wolfsburg defender John Anthony Brooks netted his team's first goal of the fresh Bundesliga season to set the hosts on their way to a 2-1 win over Schalke on Saturday. It was his first for the Wolves and his first since April of last year.

Not to be outdone, Fabian Johnson profited from some nifty two-man game with Raffael (and from the lousy away defending) to bag the capper in 'Gladbach's 2-0 defeat of regional rival Bayer Leverkusen. The (former?) US international now has three goals and two helpers in his last six starts against the aspirin slingers.
