In a nutshell...

Just had a few words with a few folks. Stoke City has made an offer in the area of $3 million for FC Dallas winger Brek Shea. The club said no and aren't really looking to sell, but Stoke are still trying to negotiate. As of this moment, I am unaware of any competing offers. Stay tuned.

NOT AN UPDATE, SO MUCH AS A REMINDER
: You may remember my 2011 mega-list of European clubs that came out to watch Shea in person, but it slipped my mind in the wee hours of last night. As you can see, Stoke was on that list, so he's been in their sights for a long time. Like the Michael Bradley saga, it shows that sometimes these goodie situations take months or more to fully evolve into offer-making. Just added that to fill in the blanks a little.

That sucks. FCD needs to let him go if that bid is accurate.

Why would FCD risk having a pissed off Shea return to the team after he and his coach already have a not too hot relationship.

So you're saying that Twellman is wrong? I love it when you say Twellman is wrong.

I'm not saying that about my St. Louis homeboy. For all I know, he's a step past me.

I really do not pay much attention to what other outlets or reporters are coming up with about stuff like this. Often times, I need to have it pointed out to me.

In fairness to Dallas, 3 million in pretty low for an MLS player with Shea's potential. Najar is probably in the same boat, the club trying to low ball and being repelled. Certainly doesn't mean that the moves won't eventually happen.
